A Great Place to be a Kid!

Are you searching for a special place for your kids? Where there is something going on all the time! A place where you don't have to worry what your kids are doing, except that they are having fun and learning about the love of Jesus Christ! Good News! You have found your answer. Come be a part of BETHEL BAPTIST'S KIDZ ZONE!

Children's Sunday School

Sunday School is a fundamental building block in any Christian's life, and we at Bethel believe that if you can teach your child to sit-up and to sound out words, it's time to start teaching them about Jesus.

Our Preschool Department is headed up by Ms. Wanda (Kilby) and classes begin for children, 14 months up to age four. Our Preschool offers an extended-session that will keep teaching them right through the adult worship hour. Parents need not worry about their children; we have an alert call system in the main sanctuary if a need arises.

Our Sunday School for our K-5th grade is located on the lower level of the main building. We believe our teachers are some of the best. Here again, parents don't worry about your kids. If you have a pre-K/Kindergartner, they have their own extended session that continues teaching them the love of Jesus Christ while you enjoy the adult worship service.

And our kids, 1st-5th grade, leave their Sunday School classes and come to Children's
Church located in the old sanctuary.

AWANA

Wednesday Night's are special! The AWANA program hours are 6:30 - 8:30. The program is led by our Awana Commander. The kids earn uniforms, badges, and
Awana store points for memory verses. They have counsel time, music, handbook time and game time, all jammed pack in 2-hours of non-stop fun.

They participate in the Samaritan Purse Shoebox ministry, and other mission projects throughout the year.

What does AWANA stand for?
It is an acronym for Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed. This comes from 2 Timothy 2:15 which says, "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth".

AWANA's goal is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. Our AWANA Club starts with 3 year olds (three by Oct. 16th) and goes through 6th grade. Our AWANA Club is on summer break but will start back the first Wednesday after Labor Day.

If you are interested in letting your child participate in AWANA or you are
interested in serving, contact Larry or Gabrielle Rogers.

Nursery

The nursery is open Sunday morning, Sunday evening and Wednesday evening to
assist parents in the care of their infants up to 18 months old.

The nursery is located on the main floor of the church, through the double
door at the front of the sanctuary, down the hall on the left. It is equipped with cribs, high chairs, changing table and rocking chairs. A small supply of snacks (cherrios, crackers, fruit and juice) are kept on hand.

The worship service is televised for the nursery workers and children to
watch and hear.

There is a system to alert parents if they are needed in the nursery.
If you have questions, please contact the church office.

Preschool

Preschoolers are so lovable. Have you ever played Mother, May I? We still do that in Preschool....Mother, may I care for your child while you attend Sunday School and worship? Mother, may I tell your children that God loves them? Mother, may I plan activities that help your child learn Bible truths? Heavenly Father, may I, yes you may. May I say thank you to the teachers. It's so comforting to know we have Godly people influencing our children.

Children's Church

Children's Church is a time when kids, 1st-5th grade can come and experience their own worship service on their age level. We have praise and worship music; announcements, offering and a special message brought to your kids each week by Mr. Larry (Rogers).

We do throw in a few things that you may not do in the adult worship services, like skits, contests and motions to each of our songs. But our joy is when we see young hearts give their life to Jesus Christ and see spiritual growth in our kids.

Bethel Christian Academy

Bethel Christian Academy is a ministry of Bethel Family Ministries, presently located in The Family Life Center facility in Canton, NC in Haywood County. It is fully accredited by the NC Dept. of Non-Public Education.

Established in 1995 with 35 students, the school now accommodates 155 students in Kindergarten through 12th grade, with plans to add a three and four year old pre school for the 2003-2004 school year. The plans to move to a larger facility at the former YMCA building in Canton have now been realized.

The goal of Bethel Christian Academy is to provide a quality education taught from a Christian world view, at an affordable price. In order to keep tuition rates as low as possible, families of students are asked to volunteer two hours per month.
