Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Mission Projects

Bethel Missionary Baptist Church is very much involved in missions. Our missions start at home with our weekly community and county visitation every Monday night at 7 p.m. Many souls have been saved during these visits. We feel that all missions truly start at home.

During the past 15 years, we have been involved with construction teams going to Honduras. During this time we helped financially and physically with many volunteers giving of their time and paying their own way to help build 15 churches in different locations in Honduras. Some of the churches have already planted other churches. The last year we were there we also helped build 15 houses for people who had lost their houses during a hurricane. We also coordinated the collection and arrangement of a truck load of disaster relief goods from Haywood County during the disaster caused by a hurricane. We were there when the goods arrived and were able to help distribute the relief goods. God has used our church to do a wonderful work in Honduras.

During 2001, we shifted our focus from construction to Evangelism. We made our first trip to Bangladesh. Bangladesh being a Muslim country, evangelism is very hard but many people accepted Christ during the trip.

In 2002, we made trips to Massachusetts, Mexico and to World Changers in Norfolk, VA. During the Massachusetts trip and the Mexico trip, we had approximately 25 people accept Christ on each trip. The youth and adult chaperones had a wonderful experience on the World Changers trip to Norfolk.

We have one missionary from our church currently serving with her husband and daughter in Thailand as well as another serving at Lenior-Ryan College in North Carolina. Thailand will be considered for future trips.

Mathew 28:19 - 20 states that we should be missionaries to all the world and Bethel Missionary Baptist Church strives to be a good example of what Jesus wants us to do.
